Isaac, Yuna, Alexandra, Ellis, Harrison and Isla from Year 5 have recently taken part in a creative photography research project, collaborating with pupils from across Bristol to ‘frame the future’.
Using photography as a tool for storytelling, the children developed visual narratives that explored their ideas for the city’s future. These creative responses were brought together in a speculative zine, designed to share their perspectives with communities both within Bristol and beyond.
The childrens’ work was later exhibited at the Trinity Centre, where they worked together to present their ideas and reflect on their creative process. The exhibition offered a valuable opportunity to showcase their collaborative efforts and engage with a wider audience.
Led by a research team from the University of Oxford, the project aims to explore how children use photography and creativity to understand and imagine the world around them. Through this experience, pupils developed new ways of expressing their ideas while contributing to an important piece of research.
A huge well done to all involved for their thoughtful and imaginative contributions.
