The outstanding pastoral care that lies at the heart of Clifton High School forms the foundation of the education our Hive Pre-School children receive from qualified teachers, teaching assistants and Early Years practitioners.
The Hive Pre-School's provision of a safe and happy environment is vital in building a young child's overall wellbeing and learning development. We work closely with parents to build a mutual relationship that focuses on our youngest learners feeling nurtured with a sense of 'home' at the forefront of their School day. We believe that not only should children feel secure, but they should also see themselves as valued members of their class and year group. It is with this growth of confidence that children naturally transition into the Infant School.
Throughout the Hive, we implement the following provisions:
- Small class sizes and time devoted to each child to develop their emotional, social and physical needs through subconscious learning.
- A key teaching staff member for each child who closely tracks, monitors and follows their educational development and interests for relevant activities to be administered.
- A close partnership with parents to realise their child's learning abilities and establish any speech and language needs, which are then carefully reviewed on an ongoing basis.
- Intervention from our experienced Enhanced Learning Department, to create bespoke programmes, should it be necessary, that provide an additional level of support and cater for the developmental needs of our younger children.
- An environment in which our teachers and teaching assistants work with mutual respect and understanding.
