Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Production 2026

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

An exceptional and memorable 2026 Clifton High School production

There was something truly special about Clifton High School’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this year. The energy, anticipation and sense of community filled the Redgrave Theatre long before the curtain rose. What followed was a showcase of remarkable talent, the result of months of dedication and creativity from both performers and the show’s drama and musical directors. It was a pure testament to hard work and commitment, culminating in an exceptional and memorable production.

When rehearsals began in October 2025, the performers began to immerse themselves in the wonderfully eccentric world of Willy Wonka. They each embraced the challenge of bringing this vibrant story to life, one that holds a distinct place in so many childhood memories. The pupils’ ability to learn lines, master intricate choreography and collectively navigate a stream of musical numbers was a clear demonstration of resilience and focus. Their growing confidence was evident throughout and proved to be one of the most rewarding aspects of the show.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is such an amazing story that has been a part of many a person’s childhood. I find it so wonderful that we, as students, have been given the chance to have a good go at portraying these iconic characters, ones that have been so influential in people’s lives and perceptions of the world.”

Behind the performers was a passionate team of drama and musical Directors, technicians, costume, hair and make-up designers, alongside an orchestra, all of whom were integral in the success of the show. Everyone demonstrated remarkable dedication, shaping the production to leave a lasting impression on the audience. Their efforts ensured that every detail was considered, contributing to a spirited performance.

“Seeing our talented pupils grow in confidence and bring the story and characters to life has been a highlight of the year, and I am incredibly proud of all they have achieved”.

“I think the best part of doing the show is bonding with people in different year groups and becoming friends with people who I probably wouldn’t have talked to if I hadn’t joined the show. I have loved seeing the show come together in the last few weeks and seeing all our hard work pay off! The show has really helped my confidence in acting, and it’s now one of the things I look forward to most about the School year!”

At the heart of Clifton High School’s performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory lies the strength of its community. The support of family, friends and staff members played a vital role in bringing the show to life, highlighting a sense of belonging that defines what it means to be a part of the School.

As we now look ahead to our 150th anniversary in 2027, this production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a reminder of the values that shape our identity. It showcased our pupils’ growth and love of learning within a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones. With exciting plans on the horizon, including an investment in facilities and expanded opportunities, the show was proof of an enriching and inspiring education.

Congratulations to everyone involved, and sincere thanks to staff and family members who supported this year’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was an unforgettable journey into Willy Wonka’s marvellous factory.
