Sport For All

OUR 'SPORT FOR ALL' ETHOS

BEYOND A SCHOOL. A PLACE TO BELONG.

‘Sport for All’ at Clifton High School is a philosophy that advocates and encourages more than skill-based training.  It is an inspiring and inclusive addition to the curriculum, where all pupils, regardless of their level or aptitude, gain confidence through sport, understanding that their participation is what truly matters.

As a School, we believe that sport is one of the many educational pathways that create a layer of empowerment for children to feel happy, supported and an integral part of a team, both on and off the sports field. Their contribution to a game plan is the basis for our ‘sport for all’ ethos of sportsmanship, friendship and fun.

Our pupils’ sense of belonging reflects the well-rounded and comprehensive education they recieve at Clifton High School, which is a thoughtfully curated balance of academia, sport and the creative arts. We challenge them to realise their individual brilliance through this bespoke curriculum, offering a plethora of additional co-curricular activities that develop and expand upon lifelong learning skills.

Whatever age or stage your child is at, we are an all-through School that understands transition. In our experience, Year 5 and Year 7 are pivotal in a child’s development, and we carefully prepare Junior School pupils to navigate the stepping stones associated with entering the Senior School so they can naturally reach new heights in their education. At these stages of development, pupils are exposed to specialised teaching both in the classroom and on the sports field, expanding their horizons and targeting fundamental skills.

Prospective parents may book tours through our friendly Admissions Team at any time during the year. However, we warmly welcome you to our Junior and Senior Open Evening on Thursday 30th April 2026 from 5.30 to 7.30 pm. This event offers another level of insight into the School, allowing us to open our doors and showcase our provisions for families to tour with current pupils and students, interact on a more personal level with teachers, staff members and hear from our Head, Mr Will Phelan and other Senior Leadership Team members.

We hope that by visiting Clifton High School, your family will gain a true sense of our holistic values alongside our commitment to teaching that supports all children in each chapter of their education.

Book a place at our Open Evening for Year 5 and Year 7 entry in September 2027.
