PRIDE PARADE CELEBRATION

Clifton High pupils join Clifton College to celebrate inclusion, community and equality

On the afternoon of Friday 1st May, Dr Poland and Mrs Banos accompanied 15 Clifton High School pupils to take part in Clifton College’s Pride Parade. The event brought together pupils from both schools in a vibrant celebration of community, diversity and inclusion.

The parade was full of colour, energy and positivity, providing a wonderful opportunity for pupils to come together and show their support for one another. It also served as an important reminder of the role schools play in fostering environments where every individual feels seen, valued and respected. Events such as this reinforce a shared commitment to ensuring that prejudice and discrimination have no place in our communities.

Beyond the celebratory atmosphere, participation in Pride events is a meaningful part of promoting inclusivity within schools. Research consistently shows that when schools actively support LGBTQIA+ inclusion, it contributes to a more supportive and understanding environment for all pupils. This, in turn, is linked to improved wellbeing and more positive mental health outcomes across the student body.

We are proud of the pupils who represented Clifton High School with such enthusiasm, embracing the opportunity to stand alongside others in support of equality and inclusion.
