Annual Events

There are many events in our School Calendar, from annual traditional services to new innovative concepts. They are often an opportunity for the whole School community to come together.

Rose Day

Close to midsummer's day when Bristol is at its finest, Clifton High School holds its annual Rose Day. Celebrating our achievements, inspiring our young people and welcoming both new friends and old; we say farewell to our Sixth Form students, raise a glass to their future and celebrate the successes of the School at the end of a busy year.

Rose Day is one of the oldest traditions of Clifton High School. It was established by its first head Miss Woods in the 1880s and this annual service of thanksgiving, commemorative and prize giving is a highlight of the School year.

The Carol Service

At the end of the Autumn Term we hold our annual Carol Service in Clifton Cathedral. A poignant occasion, this candlelit service is based on the traditional King’s College, Cambridge Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. It is a fitting end to our term  and marks the beginning of our Christmas celebrations.
