Our Nursery - Year 6 boys and girls have enjoyed a week of activities for our 'One World' themed CHS Book Week. We only have one world and it is precious; this environmental topic ran through the week in classes, assemblies and other activities.
The whole school has enjoyed a mufti day in aid of Comic Relief today. Pupils and staff dressed in red, painted their faces, wore wigs and red noses for the charity. We also enjoyed our 'Make a Funny Face' cake competition.
Last night's Futures and Skills Evening was a resounding success. The evening, entitled 'Your Future Starts Here' aimed to help our pupils make decisions about their future. Advice, work experience and internships are all a vital part of decision making regarding future careers and Clifton High School endeavours to do all it can to support our pupils in finding these opportunities.
The Clifton High School U10s enjoyed another lovely sunny day for their netball tournament, playing a series of matches against a number of Bristol schools - an enjoyable event for all involved.

Staff and pupils got into the festive spirit on
Friday, wearing Christmas jumpers and other seasonal attire in aid of

A huge number of the CHS community contributed to
the Parents' Association Clothes and Toys Swap on Friday. The event was
organised in aid of Médecins Sans Frontières response to the Ebola
crisis in West Africa.
We are delighted to announce that due to increased demand, from January
2015 we will be offering two classes in the Nursery School – a Nursery
Class and a Pre-School Class.

year the PA Christmas Fair will feature crafts, refreshments, The Great
CHS Bake Off, Santa's grotto, Neal's Yard, Ruby & White turkeys,
Stella and Dot Jewellery, Cotswold Fir Christmas trees, Phoenix Cards

Since gaining the Eco Schools Silver Award last summer the School’s Eco
Committee have been eagerly working towards the prestigious Green Flag
Award. The Green Flag is the
highest accolade that the Eco Schools scheme offers.

Once again the Marquee was a hive of activity for the final day of our
Marquee Week celebrations. The morning of Creative Thinking Day was
filled with different creative workshops for the children to enjoy. In the afternoon the Senior School students listened to a talk from Mr
Kevin Farrar for IBM on the interesting topic of how IT and technology
can be used for innovation in business and explored large 3D shapes in a mathematics workshop.

Our lively Parents'
Association (PA) organised a fantastic cheese and wine evening which
packed the Marquee with 100 guests on Saturday night. The guests also enjoyed a reception of prosecco and canapés, a French bistro supper, and live music.

Monday 13th October was Literary Day in the Marquee. Throughout the day a book fair was available for parents and children to browse and purchase books at their leisure. The day started off with a Harvest Festival for Nursery - Year 6 and their parents then Nursery - Year 2 then spent the morning enjoying a storyteller. In the afternoon we had the pleasure of visits from authors John Dougherty and Steve Voake.
Friday's Extra Curricular Clubs Day was a vibrant showcase of some of the many clubs on offer at Clifton High School including dance, music, sport and enivronment.

Our alumni and current 1st teams took on the challenge of the annual alumni hockey and netball matches last weekend. It is always a pleasure to catch up with ex pupils and discover where their exciting career pathways have led them, so they can give inspiration to our current senior girls.
Over the summer Clifton High School relocated and refurbished the
Nursery School. There are now two bright, airy and spacious classrooms,
each for eighteen children. Also, we have a lovely garden with plenty of
space for the children to play, read and exercise.

are delighted to announce that the Clifton High School GCSE results
have mirrored the outstanding performance we saw from our A level
students earlier this summer. The Diamond Model together with the school’s philosophy of realising
individual brilliance has meant that students can celebrate more than
just academic success as they are encouraged and nurtured to explore
their talents. The successes they have achieved in sports, drama, music
and art will give them skills to help them as they continue their
education in the sixth form and beyond.

received an outstanding set of results. For Clifton High this has been
an extremely important day as these are the first set of results for
pupils who have been educated since we became fully co-educational and

A downpour of biblical proportions did not dampen the spirits of the
organisers of this year’s Summer Fair. Stalls
were erected inside and out and the festival atmosphere attracted a good
crowd. There was a delightful family atmosphere
and a good time was had by children and adults alike.

On Saturday 21st June, on a glorious summer day, we held our annual Rose
Day service at Bristol Cathedral. This is always a well-loved and
special day for the Clifton High School community, this year made all

The Numicon Intervention programme has been introduced to Nursery to Year 2. The programme involves a multi sensory approach to number representation, maximising young children’s opportunities to blend action and imagery with their use of mathematical language and symbols.
Thirty-five very excited Year 7, 8 and 10 pupils spent four days in Germany during the Christmas holidays visiting the Cologne Christmas markets and the Lindt factory.
Everyone at CHS is delighted to congratulate author Chris Riddell, who visited us back in September to talk to our Year 4 to 6 children, for winning the 2013 Costa Children’s Book Award for Goth Girl and the Ghost of a Mouse this week.
We have opened a ‘hat and bag' play shop in the Nursery School which sells a selection of accessories to suit most tastes and professions! Mr Richards kindly attended our grand opening and cut the ribbon.
