Trips and Visits

Trips and visits enhance the curriculum and provide our children with exciting and enriching opportunities to learn outside the classroom. Children in Reception to Year 2 take regular visits to the local area and also further afield which are included in the fees.

Clifton Village is a wonderful resource and the children benefit enormously from the expertise within the community. Local dentists, doctors, builders, café owners, estate agents, post office workers, chefs, travel agents and hairdressers have visited us or allowed us to visit them.

As an historic city, Bristol itself offers the opportunity for the children to enjoy trips to eminent buildings, museums and landmarks such as Brunel’s SS Great Britain, At-Bristol, and the Tyntesfield estate. We are also located very close to Bristol Zoo and the children often walk there to take part in fascinating workshops or listen to talks offered by their education team.

All children from The Hive to Year 6 participate in ‘Adventure’ every week. Nursery have weekly Forest School sessions on-site; Reception use on-site and off site facilities weekly; Years 1 and 2 go off-site every week and learn outdoors at the beach, on the farm, in a cave, go climbing or on an assault course!  The forest and river are also firm favourites!

Fitting in with topic work we also arrange trips for the children a little further afield. Weston-super-Mare is a popular destination which children visit when studying 'the seaside', they have also visited St Fagan’s National History Museum near Cardiff.
