Pupils who enter the Senior School will possess sufficient academic ability to allow them to access a wide range of GCSE subjects, currently nine. They would then be expected to take A levels (the current usual three subjects at A level and an AS level) and to go on to the higher educational establishment of their choice.
For external candidates, entry into the Senior School in Year 7 is dependent upon:
- entrance examination - competitive selective examination in Mathematics, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning
- a report from their Junior School
- a formal meeting with the Head of School or Deputy Head of School, for both the candidate and their parents
Prospective families will need to complete a registration form and return it to our Registrar and School Admissions Manager.
For pupils in Year 6 at Clifton High School, entry into Year 7 is based on:
- Entrance Examination - competitive selective examination in Mathematics, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning
- A meeting with the Head of School or Deputy Head of School, for both the candidate and their parents
Existing Clifton High School pupils do not need to complete a registration or entrance examination application form.
