Holiday sports camps - off to a great start
The Clifton High School Holiday Sports Camps were launched on 7 April 2014 and what an amazing week we had. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and parents remarked on what a difference it makes having qualified teachers running a holiday club. Mr Collins and Mr Taylor arranged a busy and varied schedule spanning the whole week which included a visit from Olympic Water Polo Champion, Craig Figes and a golf taster session from Bristol and Clifton Golf Club. The on-site pool was used every day for fun swimming sessions and the school lawn and MUGA were buzzing with laughter and activity. It was fantastic to see so many children and teachers having such great fun, being active and enjoying sport in the spring sunshine. Other activities included hockey, cricket, tag rugby, football, rounders and the CHS Olympics. As well as providing first class holiday activities the club also provided a great opportunity for the boys and girls on our Sports Leaders Programme. Coming along every day, our newly qualified Year 10 Sports Leaders provided additional support for Mr Taylor and Mr Collins. Not only did they have the opportunity to put their new sport leadership skills into practice but their involvement in the clubs will make a significant contribution towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Well done everyone - a fantastic week!
