On Friday afternoon, Clifton High hosted the Under 9 Rounders Festival at Coombe Dingle. Six schools attended the event, with over seventy girls enjoying the opportunity to play rounders in the sunshine.
Throughout the course of the afternoon, the girls developed their batting and fielding skills and strengthened their understanding of the rules and tactics of the game. A special mention to Romane, Jess, Alice and Isabella for their impressive batting and for consistently hitting the ball with power into deep field, enabling them to score multiple rounders.
The festival was run in a ‘round robin’ fashion, with all teams playing against each other and the Clifton High Team managed to secure 1st place after remaining undefeated against all schools! Eleanor in Year 10 took on the role of coach for one of the Clifton High teams and demonstrated excellent leadership skills throughout - an exceptional ambassador for the School.
